Coming Soon: Mayor Ruthanne Fuller has signed a provisional host community agreement for Herbology’s Newton Dispensary to sell cannabis for adult-use at 131 Rumford St. in Newton’s Auburndale village. They are currently working with entities like the CCC to get final approval.

Herbology’s Newton dispensary is owned by the national cannabis company Grassroots. Their Newton location could be the first in Massachusetts for the brand. They are already have active operations in Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Ohio and North Dakota and are in the process of expanding to Arkansas, Connecticut, New Jersey Nevada, Arizona, Florida, Massachusetts and Vermont.

Herbology’s Newton dispensary adheres to their motto of ‘serving the movement’ by helping to disseminate factual information about cannabis and combating false narratives. They prefer to refer to their retail locations as provisionary centers (instead of dispensaries) and employees as Herbologists (instead of bud tenders). They try to take the pressured sale tactics out of the cannabis shopping experience with an inviting atmosphere and comfortable seating that encourages longer stays.
