Members of the cannabis community in Boston have long visited The Hempest in both Harvard Square and on Newbury St. for hemp derived products, rolling papers and glass pipes. Now the brand hopes to sell what their customers have always wanted: actual cannabis. The Hempest of Roslindale’s Boston dispensary has requested a permit to sell cannabis at 882 South St. They still must navigate a potential appeals process, draft a community host agreement, get approval from the Cannabis Control Commission and register as a business with the city of Boston.

Mitch Rosenfield owns The Hempest of Roslindale’s Boston dispensary and The Hempest in Harvard Square. He understands Massachusetts’ cannabis community better than most.  The Hempest brand was created in 1995, in part, to shed light on the political, economic and environmental issues surrounding the prohibition of hemp and cannabis. The brand has been an integral force in pushing for the decriminalization, medical and recreational legalization we enjoy today.

Once open, we expect The Hempest of Roslindale’s Boston dispensary to feature a full range of cannabis products with the same quality that their other location’s THC-free products are known for.
